Meet Jessica Pruitt, who is the assistant library director of the Zephyrhills Public Library!

Pruitt is a longtime Zephyrhills resident. She attended and graduated from West Zephyrhills Elementary, R.B. Learn more about her in this Q-and-A:

What does your role at the Library entail?
“I help the Library Director with operating the library and ordering new books for the library. I also organize youth programming, run the front desk, and facilitate deposits."

What do you enjoy about working for the Library?
“I enjoy the kid’s programming, helping people, and showing visitors what the library has to offer. I’m really happy to be here, and it’s great working with everybody at the library.”

What makes the Library special?
“Here, we focus more on the books. We have a nice collection of meeting spaces, but we have a really good collection of books for a library of this size — and I think that is a good thing.”

What are some of your hobbies and interests?
“I enjoy reading, of course. Mystery is my favorite genre. My favorite book is ‘And then there were none,’ by author Agatha Christie. I also like watching television, crafting, and participating in Zumba classes."

What do you enjoy about the Zephyrhills community?
“I like the small-town feel that we maintain, even though Zephyrhills is growing. I also like our downtown, where you can walk and visit all the shops. The town has changed a lot since I was a kid.”

What’s something unique about you?
“I drive a manual (stick shift) car, and I used to be a film projectionist.”
